Research Overview
I am currently working in the NU Computer Architecture Reserach group. Specifically, my research applies the stream model of computing to the Blackfin embedded media processor for high-definition image and video processing. The stream model decouples computation and memory operations and seeks to maximize parallelism and locality. The Blakfin is a dual-core, dual-MAC DSP/MCU architecture and has configurable L1 memory and L2 SRAM which can effectively be used given the stream characteristics of media processing. I have contributed to the open-source FFmpeg project to support the Blackfin embedded media processor.
